Interesting Show in Jersey

Sometimes I leave the state and head out to New Jersey or Connecticut to check out a show.  this weekend is no exception.  Before the big game, i am going to check out a show in Clinton, NJ at the Hunterdon Art Museum.

Opening Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Hunterdon Art Museum is an exhibition of work by four artists: Astrid Bowlby, Ben Butler, Sebastian Rug, and Christopher Skura. The show, titled Fragmented, explores how all four of the artists presented create art work that is the result of extremely labor intensive processes. The end result of the effort is art that is solid, yet fragile; if one piece or thread was moved or removed, the entire structure would collapse. The public is invited to an opening reception February 5 from 2pm-4pm.

I will be there and let you know what I see.

OK so I have been threatening to write this blog for a long time, but now at the urging of my lovely (and sometimes overbearing0 sister I have bitten the bullet and will start now.

For those of you who know me, you have experienced my passion for the arts and know that I spend most of my time visiting galleries or going to fine arts openings.  While I am luck enough to live in a city where these are happening every day and night, there are many people in the world who do not have the same opportunities and access. I hope this blog will provide a window into some of the exhibits I get to see and experience.

I have a You Tube Channel called Jim Crenshaw Art where I am going to film some of the openings and shows and share them with all of you.  Please take a moment and subscribe to my channel to get all of  the latest news.

In the event you hear about a great openeing or show in the New York areas, please feel free to email me at jcrenshaw911@gmail.com and let me know.  I will do my best to get there and show you what is going on.

Thanks for reading my blog and please tell your friends all about us
